Join Us at the Downside & Hatchford Sports & Family Day
This Summer Bank Holiday Monday 31st August from 11am, we’re setting up at Downside & Hatchford Sports & Family Day 2026 on Downside Common and we’d love for you to come and say hello.
This long-standing community event is held every Bank Holiday Monday and brings together families from Downside, Cobham and the surrounding villages for a day of sporting activities, entertainment, stalls, food and drink.
Get the gang back together for a full day of fun, laughter and friendly competition. All the classic sports day races are back, from three-legged to spider races, and yes, the race master will have everyone running backwards at some point.
There’s a mountain of activities to keep everyone busy too, including archery, a climbing wall, mini golf, garden games, face painting, a teddy trail and even a haybale competition.
There’s a farm, a circus workshop and sensory play sessions as well, so little ones are just as spoiled for choice as the grown ups.
Pop by The Cricketers’s stall on the day, where we’ll have a spin the wheel game with prizes to be won. We’re also donating a raffle prize to help support the event’s fundraising, so keep an eye out for that too.
And best of all, The Cricketers looks right out over Downside Common, so once you’ve had your fill of the festivities you’re never far from a table, a cold drink and a proper sit down.
Fancy making a full day of it? Book your table at The Cricketers and turn Bank Holiday Monday into a day to remember.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Monday 31st August 2026, Downside Common, from 11am. Free entry, free parking, many free activities.
